Page Tangerine
The Page Tangerine was developed by USDA breeders in Orlando, Florida, from a cross of the Minneola tangelo and the Clementine, and it was released to growers in 1963. It is often sold as the “Page Orange” because its small-to-medium round fruit looks like a miniature orange. In fact, it is a tangerine hybrid, about three-quarters mandarin by ancestry.
The rind is smooth, thin, and deep orange-red, and the fruit is heavy for its size because it is so full of juice. The flesh is a rich, dark orange with an intensely sweet, full flavor and balanced acidity. Many growers rank it among the best-tasting citrus ever developed in Florida. Page is excellent for fresh eating and makes outstanding juice. The rind peels more tightly than a typical tangerine, so many people cut it into wedges or juice it.
At North Florida Citrus Nursery, our Page Tangerine trees are prized for their outstanding flavor and early-season harvest, and they are a standout addition to any home citrus collection.
