The Sour Orange, also known as Seville or Bitter Orange, is a foundational citrus hybrid (pomelo × wild mandarin) native to Southeast Asia. It spread through the Arab world and was among the first citrus brought to the New World by explorers like Columbus. Prized for its intense aromatic flavor rather than fresh eating, it is essential for marmalade, marinades (like Cuban mojo), and rootstock use.
